So here I am gearing up for my annual trip abroad! I couldn't think of a more stressful time right before leaving a trip- ever! We had our Ironteam kickoff yesterday, Colleen's Birthday party was yesterday and Fleet Week started yesterday as well! I made IT kickoff but unfortunately missed on the latter two- so sorry! While packing, Mel called and asked how I was doing. I told her I had so many thoughts about IT and Greece in my head going on at the same time that I was stressed out and I can feel myself shaking?? When was the last time that happened?! Geez! The really busy week at work probably didn't help matters either but all that is behind me now and I am off to Greece!
I finally packed my backpack right this time! See picture- it stands up on it's own! If you pack a backpack right- it should be able to stand up on its own! All the little colorful patches you see on the backpack represents all the different countries I've been fortunate enough to visit! One thing that will be different about this trip is that I will be only visiting one country. Not 2 or 7..just 1 which means just 1 patch to add.
The Annual "me" time trip!
My flight connections going there is a little crazy..it goes something like this: Fly out of SFO direct to Frankfurt. Then from Frankfurt connecting to Munich (I mean really? They couldn't get me straight to Munich?). Then from Munich to Athens. I opted to visit Athens on my way back so I bought a seperate flight that will take me from Athens to Crete. I arrive Monday late night. Sounds like a lot of connecting huh? I will be so happy and grateful if my backpack arrives with me and is in sight at the baggage claim once in Crete! Last year, when I went to Eastern Europe, I flew from SFO to Heathrow and then I had to get my baggage and haul @ss to get to Gatwick for my connecting flight to Split, Croatia. From Split, I had booked another flight that would get me straight down to Dubrovnik arriving at 9pm ish. So these crazy connections aren't new to me..just have to be prepared and ready to go!! Please backpack be there ..please follow!!
